Introduction

Having recently retired from a successful career as a healthcare leader, I am cobbling together my retirement life. Having had a mission statement during my work life, I decided to create one for my life in retirement. After lots of wordsmithing it reads as follows: “To use my curious passionate spirit to learn and experience what brings me joy and inspire others to create a joyful retirement life.” I have lots of interests so the learning part comes naturally for me but I wasn’t sure how to best share my newly acquired knowledge and experiences to inspire others?” Having recently realized a lifelong dream of building a cabin on a lake in the area in which I grew up, I am slowly getting reacquainted with and more fully appreciating my roots in the upper Midwest. This, along with my love for writing, quickly led to a weekly column in my local newspaper aptly called “A New Lens.” After a year of writing these columns about new insights and experiences in retirement I decided to expand my readership and engage with my readers through a blog. I hope you find inspiration from my journey for crafting your own “over the moon” retirement life. Thanks for visiting my blog!
